Following the success of last year’s programme, MentorMIX returns for 2026, proudly supported once again by GIB!

We are now calling for enthusiastic mentors to take part in this year’s programme.

The Building Institute Aotearoa is a pan-industry organisation, bringing together members from a wide range of backgrounds and roles. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please complete the form below to express your interest.

 

Programme runs from May to October 2026.

 

Applications open 9 April 2026, 8am.

Applications close 30 April 2026, 5pm.

Building Institute's Fishing Competition 2026

Friday 10th April 2026 at 6:00am, Gulf Harbour Yacht Club, 1299 Laurie Southwick Parade, Auckland 0930

The Building Institute Aotearoa Fishing Competition is back for 2026. It will be held on Friday 10 April at Gulf Harbour. 

Bring your mates, your bait and (importantly) your boat for a day on the water followed by prizegiving and a meal. 

Registrations are now open, numbers are limited so tickets will be sold on a first-in, first-served basis.

 

Prize Categories: Snapper, Kingfish, Trevally, John Dory, Kahawai, heaviest fish caught by a woman + spot prizes!

 

Date:    Friday 10 April 2026
Time:    6am - 5pm (weigh in 2:30pm-3:15pm followed by prizegiving)
Where: Gulf Harbour Yacht Club, 1299 Laurie Southwick Parade, Auckland 0930

Charitable Education Trust Greg Murphy Luncheon 2026

The NZ Institute of Building Charitable Education Trust invites you to a special fundraising luncheon on Thursday 16 April 2026, in Christchurch.

Enjoy a two-course plated lunch with beverages and hear from Greg Murphy, motorsport legend and road safety advocate during an engaging keynote, and Q & A hosted by Anthony Leighs.

This event takes place the day before the historic 2026 ITM Christchurch Super 440, the first-ever Supercars event in the South Island at Ruapuna Raceway. 

 Proceeds will be going towards the Charitable Trust programme of awards and scholarships.

Regional Panel Event - Concurrent Delay Demystified

Tuesday 19th May 2026 at 5:00pm, Kahukura Building Ara Institute of Canterbury Corner of Moorhouse Ave and, Barbadoes Street, Christchurch – K Block Level 1, room 209.

BUILDING INSTITUTE MEMBERS FREE | NON-MEMBERS $50+GST

In this practical 50-minute presentation, Karsten Thomsen of Timewise Limited uses first principles thinking and straightforward programme demonstrations to cut through the confusion.
