SITE VISIT | WELLINGTON | CPD :3 

 Join the Institute in your Lunch Break for to visit Firths site in Aotea. Firth will be showing us around and explaining their daily operations. 

You will learn about: 

• Where our raw materials come from
• Delivery and storage of raw materials
• When plant was built, why it was built and the interesting nature of a plant constructed on Wellingtons water front/New Zealand border
• Volumes supplied
• Mixes available and what these are used for
• Live slump test and education around testing
• Batching of concrete and how our orders are received
• Ordering concrete and how effective design can reduce carbon footprint
